ROAR Posters Rules PBIS

PBIS Posters, Banners, Signs at APBS Conference

Dave Thompson, President of Mascot Junction, discusses how schools can use their mascot to teach positive behavior and make their PBIS programs more engaging. Thompson explained, “We need to stop thinking of mascots as simply a tool for promoting school spirit, and start leveraging them as the powerful teaching tool they are. Marketers have been using cartoon characters to reach and influence children for decades. It’s about time we learn a valuable lesson from marketers, and use them to teach. The fact is that children self relate to their school mascot, and the emotional incentives for enjoying social success in the group a child self identifies with, is hard wired and gives educators a very powerful tool for reaching and teaching children.”

PBIS Poster Design Discussion

PBIS poster and banner design was the topic of discussion at the Mascot Junction booth at this year’s APBS Conference in San Diego.

Mascot Junction has more than 100 kid-friendly mascots, and each comes in their own clip art sets, featuring more than 80 illustrations. These illustrations are used to bring the nebulous topics of respect, responsibility, safety and others into clear focus, using a mascot that the child self identifies with.

PBIS Clip Charts

PBIS Clip Charts

Clip Chart Super Star Mascot

Clip Charts for reinforcing positive behavior in schools are printed on durable 1/8 thick PVC plastic, and are 10″ wide by 42″ tall. The “Ready to Learn” section is large enough to accommodate 36 clips, or clothes pins, making it large enough to serve the largest classrooms. The “up-clipping” areas are also larger, so you can celebrate demonstrations of positive behavior with a larger number of students. “Down-clipping” areas are smaller for similar reasons.

Mascot Junction customizes Clip Charts for each school with the school mascot. We have more than 100 kid-friendly mascots to choose from, and if we don’t have one you like, we’re glad to create one for you, or work with one you provide. By using your school mascot, you integrate the clip charts into the rest of your school’s culture, which to a large degree, centers around the mascot. In the sample provided, the clip chart features a super hero. We can customize the hero’s costume with your school colors, and put your school logo, or initials on his chest. We’re also pleased to offer a generic super hero version and a super star version – both require no customization so we can print and ship those real quick for you.

This is a brand new product, so the pricing and shipping info may not be in the price list yet, so if you want additional information, please e-mail us at info@mascotjunction.com or call 816-916-1377.

Lion Mascot Logo

Lion Mascot Logo

Our lion mascot logo is for schools with PBIS programs. The lion graphic is featured on PBIS posters, banners, signs and other items to help schools reinforce positive behavior. Mascot Junction’s original PBIS Roll Out Kits were designed for elementary schools, featuring kid-friendly cartoon mascots. Junior highs and high schools kept asking for something more appropriate for older students, so we are currently developing our “Graphic Mascot” line of products. The lion is our first mascot, and many others are on the drawing board right now. Next up will be a panther, jaguar, cougar, wildcat and bobcat. By the time we’ll be done, there will be over 100 other mascots, including a viking, pirate, knight, eagle, bulldog, blue jay, cardinal and more.

Lion Mascot Logo

We’ll change the color of this lion mascot logo to match your school colors. Then we’ll custom design posters, banners, signs and other products for your school.
